What is a trade mark examination report?
An examination report is a letter from IP Australia setting out any issues with your trade mark application. Common objections include that the mark is not distinctive enough (section 41) or that it conflicts with an existing trade mark (section 44). How long does the review take?
We typically review your report and respond within 24 hours (during business days). We'll send you an email setting out your options, our recommended approach, and any applicable fees.

What file formats do you accept?
We accept PDF files as well as images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC). If you received a physical letter, you can take a photo with your phone and upload that. The maximum file size is 4 MB.
